Flexible Video Examination Service (FVES)
UK members only
Who is this service for?
The IDTA is introducing a new service – Flexible Video Examination Service (FVES) – to support teachers who are running smaller examination sessions and can’t meet the minimum session fee, or are dealing with last‑minute or missed student entries. Teachers may now submit eligible video examinations independently through our Flexible Video Examination service.
Please note this is only for UK members.
Eligible examinations include Preparatory and Primary grades, Classwork Assessment (from Primary to Grade 5) and all Dance Awards, across Theatre, Ballroom, and Freestyle genres.
This Flexible Video Examination Service (FVES) aims to provide increased flexibility and continued access to examination opportunities for all students. Depending on demand, we’ll make this service available at specific times throughout the year or even every month.
How do I submit an examination?
Submit the examination request form (download Theatre form here | download Ballroom form here) to ukexaminationrequests@idta.co.uk and tick the box FVES (see images below).

(Change done manually in printed version)

Together with this request form, you’ll also need to send the Student Information Form (download here) with the details of the students being examined, i.e., the student’s full name, pin number and school’s name, to: ukexaminationrequests@idta.co.uk. Please note that without this information, we won’t be able to process your examination.

What happens after my examination request?
Submissions received by the 30th of April will be allocated to an examiner. Once they’ve been accepted, you’ll receive a Dropbox link to upload your videos. Please note that all submissions must meet the IDTA’s Video Examination Requirements. Further details are available in the Examination Procedure Guide and in our dedicated FAQ.
The results will be returned as soon as possible.
